When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and I could say, "I used everything you gave me."

Punching Back

Punching Back: Mike Crager's Courageous Battle with Parkinson's Disease

The link above will lead you to a video that should give a little bit of inspiration to us all. I encourage you to click on it! I promise you it will be worth your time :) I grew up with Coach Crager's step-son, Jordan so I spent a lot of time at the Crager household. When I got to high school, I got to have Coach Crager as a teacher. I also kept stats for the freshman football team, as well as the Varsity baseball team for a couple years. He helped coach both of these teams. I can remember noticing little things here and there before Coach was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I can also remember the day I found out he was diagnosed. Over the years we have grown pretty close. He has always been one of my biggest fans in all of my extra-curricular events. He was always waiting for me at the finish line at track meets, outside of the locker room at basketball games, and cheering loudly under the basketball goal for me during the games. Also, because of him I earned the nickname Putty, and it stuck. I'm so proud of him for his dedication and determination to overcome his daily battle with Parkinson's. It means even more to me now because of my chosen profession of Occupational Therapy. Now it's my turn to cheer him on. I will always be one of his biggest fans. Thanks for showing me what it really means to be a fighter!

OT vs. PT

This will probably mean nothing to those of you who aren't exposed to the everyday world of OT and PT, but I had to post this for all of my OT friends out there :) I am so happy that I was called to this profession. I love all of you and I am so thankful we are in this program together. I seriously can't believe I only have 7 months left with you houligans. Let's make the most of it.
